Gobble Gobble...

It's almost Turkey Day! Here are the questions....

  1. What are you doing over the holiday? Are you traveling?
  2. What are your exercise plans?
  3. Who is doing the thanksgiving race?
  4. If you're in the race, what are you gonna wear? Gonna be chilly!
  5. Will you totally blow your diet over the holiday?
  6. Which snacks will be most tempting?
  7. Do you need us to send you text messages to remind you not to blow it?

Happy Happy day! Tell us your Thanksgiving plans...

Yum Thanksgiving! I am doing the Turkey Trot that is in downtown Columbus.
I haven't been running as much as I should with the weather being cold (I'm a baby, I hate being cold), school, work, etc. It's just been crazy. soooo the race ought to be interesting. I'm gonna do it though!
I have to be good and not cheat too much on Thanksgiving, I have a tutu to fit into for the Holiday Show!

I love the holidays. I will be here for Thanksgiving.
Running the flying feather and hoping to not look like a dead turkey in the road.
For the most part I am going to dress like I did for the other race. My major concern right now is mentally preparing myself to make it to the end. I have not been running 3 times a week like before so this will be a challenge.
Food, food, food. Thursday will be a challenge I love this food day. Luckily I am going to my uncle's house so I won't have the extra food at my house to snack on for days.

No travel plans for me. I am actually hosting Thanksgiving at my house. Nothing too big, my mom and mother-in-law and father-in-law (an of course my kids and husband) The in-laws are cooking and bringing the turkey and I am making the side dishes and a ham. Also, since I am doing the desserts I made sure that I only make things I don't like all that well, so I won't eat too much. But, it is Thanksgiving, and I will probably just eat whatever I want and just try to watch the quantity.

I am also running with Amber at the flying feather. I am dressing pretty much like I did at the other race. I have been pretty good about running when its cold so unless its really windy I probably won't mind the cold a whole lot. 2 miles is the farthest I have ran so my goal for the race is to run 3 miles of it (slowly).

I am thinking I may break holiday tradition and sleep in the day after Thanksgiving instead of shopping. I did quite a bit already and there are a lot of great online deals out there! Of course the kids are dying to get up Christmas decorations so we will do that too.

Hi there! I will be leaving for Centerville on Wed evening. We usually have Chinese on Wed evening. We'll run the 5 miler on Thursday a.m. and then have Thanksgiving lunch at Betty Tsu's (stu's mom). Henri Templeton (rat) will come along on the journey. Little fellow is dying and it's breaking my heart. I think he'll enjoy mashed taters!

I'll eat way too much on Thursday. We'll go to the movies on Thursday evening (tradition!) and then we'll spend the evening at Betty Tsu's. We'll come back to Columbus on Friday.

I'm gonna need to dig in my stuff to find the right running gear. I heard that we're getting snow? I don't feel prepared for the race.

And yes, send me taunting text messages like "step away from the cookies!"

I'm performing at the holiday show and I need to be healthy and strong - I think my mashed tater explosion is going to hinder my performance!

Good luck to all that are running a turkey trot. We'll be home for THanksgiving and I'll get a few good runs in along with mowing the lawn for the last time and digging out the holiday lights and decorations!!

How did you guys do? It was a little cold yesterday morning, but not a bad day for a run.

It wasnt too cold for the run. It was the standing around waiting to run that was bad. My toes were numb by the time I started.

I met my goal and ran 3 miles before I had to walk and that took about 42 minutes. Now, I feel OK about doing a 5K and need to try a few more 3 miles runs then work on speeding it up some.

Overall, I was pleased but I have leared on the cold days not to get there so early.

The race went really well, boy were there alot of people there. Afterwards my knees were on fire for the remainder of the day, but they are doing better today. Must remember to keep moving after the race is over my hips and knees were sounding like rice krispies in milk, snap, crackle, pop.

Hope everyone had a great turkey day. I didn't eat as much as usual. Did not want to waste all of the calories that I burned.

I also learned that I can not run and drink water out of those cups. I had more water up my nose and on my arm then in my mouth!!
