Frozen Nose!

Hi y'all!

Sorry for my delay with the post. I was in Indy and now I have this silly head cold. So do tell me about the plan for the Frozen Nose! Vickie had some concerns about the trail being a bit too icy. Updates on that?

Tell me about your training too. How is everyone doing?

A few of the kids on the team have been chatting about the Special K diet. Many want to start on that plan and they want my opinion. I've not ever heard of this. Tell us what you know...

Plans for Frozen Nose-

I believe that the warm weather today will take care of the icy trails; weather for Saturday looks like in the 20s which in seems bearable. Unfortunately I seem to be coming down with something also-a stuffy nose and store throat. I will most like run it tomorrow unless I start feeling much worse. For anyone planning to go-send me a text or give me a call late tonight or early tomorrow morning and we can confirm plans.

I have started a weight traininig program two days a week. It has been tough but I am progressing well. Trying to do some cardio on those days also. It has been difficult to maintain 3 days a week running with all of the holidays, school cancellations, days off school etc. but I am finally getting back on track. My goal is to get in 3 days of running, 2 days of weight training/cardio each week.

Looking forward to the Gem Fit class on Sunday.

The Special K diet essentially boils down to eating a bowl of Special K cereal (serving size...not the big old bowl of cereal we're used to chowing down on) twice a day and eating a well balanced meal for the third. It also incorporates two snacks a day of around 90-100 calories. They advertise the Special K bars as the snack...YUMMO!

I've done it in the past and it works to lose a few pounds...but then again, the diet amounts to 1000-1200 (I think) calories a day and any diet with a low calorie count like that, will cause weight loss.

Ladies,

Coach Abi had surgery today and therefore will not be able to coach at Midwest on Sunday. I will be coaching her hours. Therefore, I cannot teach GemFit on Sunday.

Fear not!!!! Constance has volunteered to teach y'all a class at 6 p.m. Meet her upstairs at 5:55.

Have fun...I'll be rooting for you while I'm coaching in the main gym!

Didn't do the race today. I have come down with a bit of a cold and was not up for the challenge today or the cold. Later(after the cold medicine kicked in) I went to run on the treadmill. I did 3.1 miles at a pace of 12:29. One of my goals is to do a 5K in under 40 minutes so I sort of reached that goal-now if only I could do this outside-running on a treadmill is so much easier.

Looking forward to class tomorrow Constance!

Thanks for coming and learning about yoga, Vicki. I think you found out it is more than stretching! Don't hesitate to contact me if you have more questions.
