Hello to all-

Just wanted to talk about a few upcoming races that are of personal interest to me.

1. American Cancer Society Relay for http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR/RelayForLife/RFLFY09OH?pg=entry&fr_id=16494
There are several of these events all over central ohio this spring/summer. It would be wonderful to put together a team to do this. If I have enough interest I am more than willing to do the work to put together a team. This event is May 8th and 9th

2. Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure http://www.komencolumbus.org/
This event is May 16th. I plan on doing this one for sure.
As some of you may know, my mother was recently diagnosed with invasive breast cancer so this event is very important to me. I would love to have some company.

3. Commit to be Fit 5K/Capital City Half Marathon May 2, 2009. I am doing the 5k as part of a wellness incentive for my husbands employer and I know that Julie Y is planning on doing the 1/2 marathon. Anyone else interested?

Overall, training is still going on. Just harder to find the time with everything going on. I try to do weight training twice a week followed by some cardio. I have been trying to get in running 3 days a week. That has been the plan but lately I have only been getting in 1-2 days of running.

I must say I really enjoyed the Yoga with Constance. I always though of Yoga as stretching and deep breathing but there was so much more to it. Thanks again Constance.

What has everyone else been up to?

Any Glitter parents interested in trying to get in a workout while we are at Kalahari? I know they have a fitness room.

Today is the first day that I am allowed to start running and doing things again. I am actually really excited, its a warm day and I can't wait to get home from class tonight and see how far I can make it.
I would love to get signed up to do some races here shortly!

Hi! 12 week training schedule for the 5/2 half marathon did start this week. I've set a personal time goal for my half marathon's this year - so I'm taking this more seriously than ever. I've gotten 3 running / x-training workouts done this week but I was sore starting up this week as I have had simply not had the time over the past 2 weeks to keep up my normal schedule. Even lagging for 2 weeks can be like starting over! That said, I'm on the fence about hte Relay for Life, as it falls the weekend after the half marathon - I usually take this week off. I'll let you know closer to the date.

I signed W.D. and I up for the Dublin 4 mile race before the St. Patt's parade yesterday - would love to see you all out there! We should all be done by the time the parade takes off and have the workout out of the way to justify that lovely green beer!

I'd definitely be up for the race for the cure. I took Nicole last year and we walked the 5k - it was a great learining experience for her - got to talk about cancer and survivors, etc as we have managed to escape this from hitting anyone in our family - YET.

I am signing up for the St. Patrick Day race as well. This will be my first race so I might need lots of green beer afterwards!!!
